My professional education includes a master's degree in psychology from Columbia University. My master's essay includes a critique of Carl Rogers Client-Centered therapy.
Previous postgraduate courses in social work, psychology and education were taken at the Columbia University School of Social Work, Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
I have a certificate in alcoholism and substance abuse counseling from the New School for Social Research.
I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) #000192 and a New York State Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) #18226.
Prior clinical experience includes employment in the private mental health sector. My professional continuing education includes advanced clinical seminars in substance abuse, dual-diagnosis, trauma and anger management. Some of the professional workshops/seminars include: 2005-2006 Training Series on Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment; the Reach Educational Seminar: Men and Anger: Evaluation, Engagement and Treatment; New York State Office of Mental Health Workshop: Clinical Teaching: Conference on Trauma Services in the Public Mental Health System.
In my clinical work I have facilitated specialized therapy groups in anger management, men's issues, socialization skills and alcohol and substance abuse relapse prevention at Project Return, a New York City therapeutic community residential facility. Postgraduate clinical internships were completed at Cornerstone of Medical Arts Center Hospital and TRI Center, both in New York City.
Professional membership includes the New York Mental Health Counselors Association.
Other professional work includes business consulting and sales.
